Many of our guests arrive early to get in a few hours on the cross country ski or snowshoe trails
before checking in. As dusk falls and others begin to arrive, the main lodge becomes a popular spot to relax by the fire before dinner. After dinner, some guests go for a short walk or ski under the stars while others are content to renew old friendships or begin new ones. As the evening goes on, the outdoor hot tub inevitably attracts a number of our guests…
Each morning a substantial breakfast sets the stage for the day, with guests afterwards heading in all directions to pursue their favorite way to experience this remote wilderness in Superior National Forest. The allure of the trails cause some to head back out after lunch while others may linger, take a short nap or find a quiet place to sit with a good book. As the activities of the day begin to wind down, the focus shifts to the lakeside sauna and outdoor hot tub. "The only way,” many would contend, "to wrap up a full day on the trails!”
All are invited to gather in the main lodge to socialize and compare notes on the day’s activities.
A hearty dinner is followed by entertainment on Saturday nights
to round out the day, although many guests will stay and visit, play games, head back to the hot tub or even the trails for a moonlight ski!
Every day brings more of the same, with each guest trying to take in as much of the beauty and solitude as possible before having to think about leaving this northern Minnesota winter wonderland.
Come departure day, many can’t wait to return and book next year’s reservation, wishing it wasn’t so far away until their next visit to NFL…
