Flathorn/Gegoka Trails
With 30 KM of trails, covering 2,000 acres of Superior National Forest, groomed exclusively for classic skiing in the pine forest, the Flathorn/Gegoka Touring Area offers an intimate skiing experience. Moose, deer and wolf tracks are common sightings along the trails, and the lucky skier may even catch a glimpse of one. Ski right from your cabin door to varied terrain and beautiful scenery, including the Little Isabella River, the pine forest and black spruce and cedar groves. Moderate elevation changes allow skiers of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the big pines of the "Isabella Pine Belt". Average annual snowfall of eight feet relates to great skiing from December through March.
There are in addition to these trails, over 200 KM of groomed X-C ski trails along the North Shore of Lake Superior, just 30 minutes away.
Located south of Hwy 1 is our snowshoe trail area. These trails offer yet another winter wilderness adventure. Snowshoes are available through the lodge, along with the expertise.
